A Bethlehem Township family is going all out for their haunted garage, but other nearby community attractions will be dark this Halloween. One of them has spooked its last visitor.

Dorney Park's Halloween Haunt marks the unofficial start to spooky season in the Lehigh Valley. It turns the theme park from daring and thrilling to a frightful and chilling experience, with designated "scare zones" for a haunting good time.

The annual festival is back for its 12th year featuring beer, food, music, and wiener dogs.

The event will include German food, crafts, music and activities such as wiener dog races, a barrel-rolling competition and the Pennsylvania State Steinholding Championship. Four biergartens will offer beer including Yuengling, Hofbräu, Samuel Adams, Dogfish Head, Victory and more.

Franklin Graham, son of the late evangelist Billy Graham, is hosting an event at the Allentown Fairgrounds with Christian rock band Newsboys and artist Marcos Witt.

The 35th annual Celtic Classic brought those celebrating the heritage of the British Isles to Bethlehem, many traveling from other states and even countries to see and take part.

Allentown will host a walking Halloween parade this year. The event has not been cancelled. However, cars and floats will not be part of this year's event.

The Harlem Globetrotters will return to Allentown's PPL Center at 7 p.m. Feb. 27, it has been announced.

Performers Kassi Ashton, Kelsey Hart, Meghan Patrick and Annie Bosko will be the lineup for Cat Country 96 Jingle Jam, which traditionally night for up-and-coming country acts performing acoustic music.

Lehigh University will host three-time defending NCAA champion Penn State at the arena at 2 p.m. Dec. 8, the venue announced.

”A Sousa Band Concert” with the Allentown Band playing the music of famed composer and conductor John Philip Sousa will be held Sunday, Oct. 13, at Miller Symphony Hall, 23 N. Sixth St., Allentown. At the show, the first Sousaphone — the large-belled instrument in the tuba family named after Sousa — will be displayed.

The Karl Stirner Arts Trail will introduce their 2024-25 artist-in-residence Chakaia Booker with the premier of a piece built from recycled tires, No More Milk and Cookies, at the trail this Sunday.

Dorney Park's Halloween Haunt has opened, and beyond the returning horror of the haunted houses and mazes, fans can look forward to an eerie addition for the creepy coaster Iron Menace as well.

Allentown Farmers Market, Brass Rail and food truck fare complement free local and regional musical talent through mid-October.

The Nitro Circus tour will perform at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at Allentown's PPL Center. Tickets, at $54-$204, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13 at PPLCenter.com.

On Thursday, Sept. 12, PPL Center turns 10, and since that opening show by The Eagles, the arena has offered more than 1,365 events and brought more than 4.58 million visitors to downtown Allentown for events.

In the decade since Allentown's PPL Center opened on Sept. 12, 2014, with a concert by The Eagles, the venue has presented 83 concerts, including comedy shows.
