Common Threads Lehigh Valley

Finally, a podcast for Lehigh Valley women! 💖
Common Threads logo

Our stories unite us, and help us find common ground. But right now, many of us feel disconnected, and at times, divided.

That’s why we’re launching a podcast focused on the things that connect us — specifically, the things that connect local women. It’s called Common Threads Lehigh Valley.

This is a space for local women to meet up, talk, listen and learn from each other. Because whether we’re juggling daily tasks, attempting work-life balance or trying a new self-care ritual, we’re all more alike than we think!

This podcast is about creating space for local women to share their perspectives, personal stories and find connection with women in their community. Because everyone has a story to tell.

Every month will have its own unique theme. Topics are confronted with brutal honesty, the sharing of lived experiences and openness. The podcast is hosted by Emmy-winning journalist Megan Frank and women who live and work in our community. The first episode is live now and available in the video player below. Listen wherever you get your podcasts — or stream on the PBS39 YouTube Channel.

Allie Grantz, an Easton-based nutrition coach and personal trainer, owns CycleFit Lehigh Valley.

To kickstart your 2026 health journey, Allie recommends:

  1. Set realistic goals (i.e. A goal to lose 5 pounds is a good starting point!)
  2. Create a routine. Exercising 20 minutes a day, 3x a week is a good plan. Consistency is key to seeing results.
  3. Once you lose the first 5 pounds, think: What do I do next, to lose the next 5? Ask: Can you add on to your workout routine — or add more vegetables to your meals?
  4. Don’t get rid of foods you enjoy, just watch the serving sizes.
  5. It can be helpful to count calories in an app when you start, to give you an idea of what you're eating in a day and/or week. (But you don’t have to do this forever.)
  6. Take rest days!
  7. Alcohol has no nutritional value, but if you want it in your diet, cut down as much as possible. Also, consider alcoholic drink alternatives that contain fewer calories.
  8. It takes anywhere from 21 days to a year to form a habit. Find something you enjoy and stick with it.
  9. Make a vision board and hang up encouraging notes!
