Country music star with eight top hits in past nine years to headline Musikfest's opening night

Country music chart-topper Russell Dickerson will headline opening night of Bethlehem's Musikfest festival on July 31. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, March 20.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A country-pop singer-songwriter who in the past eight years has had five No. 1 songs on the Country Airplay chart will headline the official opening night at Bethlehem's Musikfest.

Russell Dickerson, best known for the 2017 triple-platinum hit "Yours" and the double-platinum hits "Blue Tacoma" in 2018 and "Love You Like I Used To" in 2020, will perform at 7 p.m. July 31, it was announced.

Tickets, the prices of which were not immediately announced, go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, March 20, at the ArtsQuest website or the box office at 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.

The show is the 10th of 11 headline acts announced for this year's Musikfest, which will run July 31-Aug. 9, with a preview night July 30, in downtown Bethlehem and the SteelStacks campus.

It also is the third country music act to be announced as a Musikfest headliner this year, joining fast-rising country music star Bailey Zimmerman on Aug. 6, country music chart-topper Parker McCollum on Aug. 7.

Eight Top 16 hits in nine years

Dickerson hit gold with his 2017 debut album "Your," which included the title track, "Blue Tacoma" and the platinum No. 1 hit "Every Little Thing."

His sophomore disc, 2020's "Southern Symphony," peaked at No. 14 but included "Love You Like I Used To" and the gold hit "Home Sweet."

His third, self-titled album in 2022 peaked at No. 18 on the Country charts and produced the double-platinum "She Likes It" (with Jake Scott) and the No. 2 hit "God Gave Me a Girl."

His most recent disc, "Famous Back Home," peaked at No. 34, but gave Dickerson another No. 1 hit, "Home to Me,' which topped the Country chart in September.

He later recorded a version of the song with The Jonas Brothers.

In all, Dickerson has had eight Top 16 hits and nearly 11 million singles.

Musikfest lineup nearly complete

Just one more Musikfest headliner for 2026 remains to be announced, for July 31.

Previously announced headliners for Musikfest are "Saturday Night Live" comedian John Mulaney on Aug. 1, soft-rockers Train on Aug. 3 and iconic comedy musician Weird Al Yankovic on Aug. 4.

Also, multi-platinum-selling 2000s rapper T.I. with DaBaby on Aug. 5, fast-rising country music star Bailey Zimmerman on Aug. 6, country music chart-topper Parker McCollum on Aug. 7 and rockers Taking Back Sunday on Aug. 8 and indie-pop brother trio AJR on Aug. 9.

Top Colombian Salsa band Grupo Niche will play preview night for the festival on July 30.
