BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A rapper who in the early 2000s produced six platinum albums will headline Musikfest's Steel Stage, it was announced Monday.
T.I., best known for his eight-times- platinum hits "Whatever You Like" in 2008 and "Live Your Life (featuring Rihanna)," will perform at 6 p.m. Aug. 6.
Tickets, the prices of which were not immediately announced, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 6, at the ArtsQuest website or the box office at 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.ArtsQuest
Rapper DaBaby, who has four Top 10 albums and is known for the five-times platinum 2020 No. 1 hit "Rockstar (featuring Roddy Ricch)" will open the show.

T.I. is the ninth of 11 headline acts announced for this year's Musikfest, which will run July 31-Aug. 9, with a preview night July 30.
Platinum hits, Grammy nominations
T.I. released his debut album, "I'm Serious," in 2001, and hit platinum with his sophomore album, "Trap Musik," which hit No. 2 on the R&B chart and No. 4 on the overall Albums chart.
The disc included three Top 15 Rap chart songs, including the gold hit "24's."
But it was his third disc, 2004's "Urban Legend," that took him to No. 1 on the Rap chart. It sold double platinum and contained the double-platinum "Bring 'Em Out," the platinum hit "U Don't Know Me" and the gold "ASAP."
The 2006 follow-up "King" also went double-platinum, topped the overall Albums chart and produced the double-platinum "What You Know."
After 2007's "T.I. vs. T.I.P" also went No. 1 and platinum, T.I. achieved his peak sales with 2008's "Paper Trail," which also hit No. 1 and sold four times platinum.
That album included "Whatever You Like" and "Live Your Life," both No. 1 hits, and the five-times platinum "Dead and Gone (featuring Justin Timberlake)."
The follow-up "No Mercy" in 2010 was his last platinum album, and his 2014 single "No Mediocre (featuring Iggy Azalea)" was the last to achieve platinum sales.
His most recent album was 2020's "The L.I.B.R.A.," with a new disc, "Kill the King" to be released soon. The first single, "Let 'Em Know," released Jan. 18, peaked at No. 4 on the Rap chart.
He's been nominated for 20 Grammy Awards, and won three — for "What You Know" and "My Love (with Justin Timberlake)," both in 2007, and "Swagga Like Us (with Jay-Z, Kanye West & Lil Wayne)" in 2009.
His latest nomination was for "Headphones (with Lecrae & Killer Mike)" this year.
Musikfest lineup nearly complete
DaBaby hit platinum and No. 7 on the overall Albums chart with his 2019 debut album "Baby on Baby" and its four-times-platinum hit "Suge."
His sophomore album "Kirk," also released in 2019, also hit No. 1 and sold platinum, as did 2020's "Blame It on Baby."
His latest album is "Be More Grateful," released Jan. 30.
In all, DaBaby has released or appeared on 35 gold and platinum albums.
Previously announced headliners for Musikfest are "Saturday Night Live" comedian John Mulaney on Aug. 1, soft-rockers Train on Aug. 3 and iconic comedy musician Weird Al Yankovic on Aug. 4.
Also, fast-rising country music star Bailey Zimmerman on Aug. 6, country music chart-topper Parker McCollum on Aug. 7 and rockers Taking Back Sunday on Aug. 8 and indie-pop brother trio AJR on Aug. 9.
Top Colombian Salsa band Grupo Niche will play preview night for the festival on July 30.
