Allegiant soon will have nonstop flight from Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) to Fort Myers, Florida (RSW) beginning Nov. 13.

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, LEHIGH COUNTY, Pa. — Lehigh Valley International Airport is adding another nonstop destination, it was announced early Tuesday.

Allegiant Air overnight announced plans to launch service to Fort Myers, Florida (RSW) beginning Nov. 13.

The route — Allegiant’s 11th nonstop destination from the Allentown area — comes amid continued passenger growth and expanding service options for local travelers.

Introductory fares for the new flights to Southwest Florida International Airport will start at $69 one way.

"Over the years, Fort Meyers has been requested by passengers as a destination that provides great access to Gulf Coast beaches and many other family-friendly attractions."
Thomas R. Stoudt, Executive Director of LNAA

“Expanding our connection to Southwest Florida is exciting news for Lehigh Valley International Airport," Thomas R. Stoudt, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority executive director, said in a release.

"Over the years, Fort Meyers has been requested by passengers as a destination that provides great access to Gulf Coast beaches and many other family-friendly attractions," Stoudt said.

He said the airport was "extremely proud" of its 20-year partnership with Allegiant.

The new route was among seven new nonstop connections across 12 cities announced by the airline.

Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief commercial officer, said the move reflects a focus on linking smaller markets with affordable, convenient travel options.

“By adding Fort Myers and increasing service to multiple beach cities, we’re providing travelers nonstop access to sunny destinations, meaning they spend less time at the airport and more time on vacation," Wells said.

A strong summer for LVIA

The announcement continues a busy summer for LVIA.

The airport recently set a June passenger record with 99,966 travelers, up 1.4% from the same month last year. Allegiant led the way with a 5.4% increase in passenger traffic, while United Airlines saw an 8% bump.

Seasonal routes to Denver and Nashville returned in May, and United will add a third daily flight to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) starting Aug. 19.

United currently offers two daily flights from LVIA to Chicago O’Hare: one scheduled for 6:30 a.m. and another at 5:35 p.m. The new flight will fall somewhere in between.

Seats and dates for Allegiant flights to Fort Meyers are limited and fares are not available on all flights, which must be purchased by Wednesday, July 30 for travel by Feb. 10, 2026.

Optional baggage charges and additional restrictions may apply, the release said, urging travelers to visit AllegiantAir.com for more information.
