BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Comcast is continuing its Lehigh Valley expansion.
The company will bring its full suite of internet, mobile, entertainment and security services from Xfinity and Comcast Business to Bethlehem, a representative confirmed Friday.
Announced during a community event at the Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley on Thursday, construction will begin this summer to provide internet access to about 30,000 homes and businesses.
The expansion will be throughout the city, according to Alexandra Smith, senior manager of public relations.
Spreading across the Valley
Comcast announced in January its connection to thousands of homes and businesses in Upper Saucon Township.
It said that expansion would include thousands of additional customers, eventually including more than 7,000 homes and businesses across the township.
It also completed an expansion into Coopersburg, and a contract with the city of Easton said the company was slated to offer high-speed internet and cable to residents and businesses over the next few years.
During an Easton meeting, Comcast representatives said an average package deal with cable television, internet and phone service would cost about $110 per month, though introductory rates may be lower.
Comcast said it has connected more than "232,000 homes and businesses in Pennsylvania to Xfinity and Comcast Business services, with more to come in 2025.”
Pricing for Bethlehem residents will show online to customers once services are available. They also can stop by the Quakertown Xfinity store or call 1-800-Xfinity to get an idea of current offers.
Project UP

Thursday’s event not only celebrated infrastructure plans, but Comcast’s broader commitment to community development.
Residents and local leaders gathered at HCLV to mark the occasion. The event included a free resume and interview workshop designed to empower job seekers in the region.
Twenty participants received personalized coaching from volunteer HR professionals, helping them strengthen their resumes and polish their interview skills.
Comcast also announced a $30,000 donation and the gift of 50 laptops to HCLV. Each workshop participant received a laptop to ensure continued access to online resources and opportunities.
“Comcast’s support will help us empower our residents with access to the skills they need to compete, and land jobs in today’s digital economy,” HCLV Executive Director Raymond Santiago said.
“This investment means real opportunity for our neighbors and a stronger future for the Lehigh Valley."
The initiative is part of Comcast’s broader Project UP — a $1 billion commitment to expanding digital access and skills training nationwide.
The effort aims to create what Comcast calls “Unlimited Possibilities” by investing in communities that have historically faced barriers to connectivity and digital inclusion.
