The "Peep drop" as it happened, on Dec. 31, 2024.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — If you've waited all year to watch a 400-pound, 4-foot-9-inch Peeps Chick drop in preparation for the New Year, you've waited too long.

Tickets to PeepsFest, the Peeps-themed New Year’s celebration at SteelStacks with its family-friendly party Dec. 30-31, are sold out, according to the ArtsQuest website.

The celebration also sold out in 2022, and in 2023. In 2022, ArtsQuest even warned people that counterfeit PeepsFest tickets were being sold.

PeepsFest will run 3-6 p.m. each day. The event is sponsored by Just Born Quality Confections, makers of Peeps.

Despite being around for 17 years, this is only the fifth year for which admission tickets are required.

This year's Peeps-themed indoor and outdoor festival will again have live music, games and crafts from local nonprofits, sponsor ArtsQuest said in a release.

Lehigh Valley Public Media, which includes PBS39, will offer the PBS at PeepsFest Experience Friendship Bracelet Creation Station.

It also will feature Peeps in the Kitchen at PBS39, where visitors to the Univest Public Media Center will be able to learn fun and tasty recipes from Chef Julie of Levy Restaurants.

Also at PeepsFest, guests 12 and younger will get a special Peeps tote bag to fill with goodies throughout the event, and there will be meet-and-greets with favorite characters.

Also this year, there will be interactive shows by Wildlands Conservancy and the Da Vinci Science Center, ArtsQuest said.

PeepsFest will run 3-6 p.m. each day Tuesday and Wednesday. The event is sponsored by Bethlehem-based Just Born Quality Confections, makers of Peeps.

The peak of the festival again will be the 5:35 p.m. drop of a 400-pound, 4-foot-9-inch Peeps Chick, followed by fireworks, each day, ArtsQuest said.

More than 3,000 people were at PeepsFest for the Peep drop last year, officials said.
