Easton Restaurant Week features more than 20 restaurants that offer special menus and fixed prices.

Welcome to Weekend fun. The LehighValleyNews.com digital desk has handpicked three events for you to enjoy in this festive weekend!

Easton Restaurant Week

Easton Restaurant Week is coming back this Sunday, with more than 20 participating restaurants serving meals with a special menu. 2023 will be the restaurant week’s 16th year.

Taking place Jan. 15 through 21, the event is held to encourage people to try out new eateries, according to the restaurant week’s manager. Some restaurants will offer their one-of-a-kind menu for the week at a fixed price.

Participating restaurants include Aman's Artisan Indian Cuisine, 3rd & Ferry Fish Market, Sette Luna Tuscan Trattoria, River Grille and more. Restaurant week options include brunch, lunch and dinner, with restaurants like Quadrant Book House and Billy’s Downtown Diner even offering breakfast.

In the same week, Winter Restaurant Week is presented in Hellertown-Lower Saucon. Attending restaurants range from a cafe to a barbecue restaurant. More information can be found here.

A biannual event, Easton Restaurant Week’s summer offering will return in July in case you miss this one.

There are more restaurant weeks coming up across the area:

  • SouthSide Arts District Winter Restaurant Week: Jan. 23-29, 2023
  • Historic Bethlehem Winter Restaurant Week: Jan. 29 - Feb. 4, 2023
  • East Penn Restaurant Week: Feb. 26 - March 4, 2023

The ‘Of Portraiture & Polio’ exhibition at The Baum School of Art

As a nonprofit visual arts school, The Baum School of Art has its own exhibition that displays unique artworks. The ‘Of Portraiture & Polio’ exhibition opened on Jan. 6 and will run through Feb. 2.

Painted by Walter Emerson Baum, the founder of The Baum School of Art, the collection of ‘Of Portraiture & Polio’ pays homage to his grandson, David Emerson Baum, who was suffering from Polio throughout his life. Contrary to his more typical landscape paintings, the series presents more liberating and evocative portraiture that captures David’s life from a child to a young man.

As a “Pennsylvania impressionist,” Walter Emerson Baum is also known as “the father of art in the Lehigh Valley.” The ‘Of Portraiture & Polio’ exhibition is being displayed at the school’s David E. Rodale And Rodale Family Galleries.

Located in downtown Allentown, The Baum School of Art also has some other upcoming exhibitions. Check them out:

  • Adult Student Exhibition: Feb. 13 - March 04
  • An Artistic Discovery: March 9-18
  • Children & Teen Student Exhibition: March 25 - April 13
  • Marlow Rodale: June 12 - July 13

To learn more about ‘Of Portraiture & Polio’, read our coverage of the exhibition or visit the school’s website.

Positively Picturesque: A Vision Board Event

Time flies. It’s almost halfway through the first month of 2023, but it’s never too late to start making plans and executing them for the following days and months!

Picturesque Luxury Picnics and Positivity Media have teamed up to host a vision board event unlike any other in the Poconos and Lehigh Valley. The event is meant to take you on a journey of self-reflection, gratitude and manifestation.

Visitors will not have to worry about the materials for the vision board such as papers, scissors and markers; however, they are encouraged to bring personal materials for their own boards. There will also be some refreshments like charcuterie boards and non-alcoholic beverages for the participants to enjoy.

Tickets are $64.50 per online purchase, while the retail value is $73 per ticket.

Here are the locations and schedules for the two events this weekend:

  • Allentown Rose Gardens: Jan. 14. Pick a time slot from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. or 2-4 p.m.
  • Blue Ridge Winery: Jan. 15. Pick a time slot from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. or 2-4 p.m.

Each time slot will have around four to six people. If there are fewer than four in a slot, it may be combined into another slot; otherwise, the event could be canceled.
Visit the event website to get a ticket.
