EASTON, Pa. – Brunch, pastries, lunch and dinner are the menu as Easton’s restaurant week returns for its 16th year. The biannual event is back with more than 20 restaurants participating in this year’s run.

Each year Easton hosts restaurant week in January and July. This year's winter offering starts on Sunday, and goes from Jan. 15-21.

Easton is among the first in line in line for the year among Lehigh Valley towns and cities that offer a restaurant week. The Hellertown-Lower Saucon area event also takes place Jan. 15-21.

Easton Restaurant Week manager Christine Piper said the event is designed so that participants can explore new restaurants while also getting a rough idea of how much it will cost. Some restaurants offer special menus for the week at fixed prices so attendees know what to expect.

“Easton is filled with so many amazing restaurants and types of cuisine. It gives restaurants to showcase new specials and types of meals for people to enjoy,” Piper said.

Options for this year’s event include not only dinner, but lunch, brunch and breakfast. For instance, Quadrant Book House and Billy’s Downtown Diner have specials for morning diners.

Piper said the promotional event has also expended to include more than sit-down dining.

“We’ve opened it up to tap rooms and over-the-counter type restaurants so they can get involved and people can enjoy a quick meal as well as a sit-down meal,” Piper said.

Thrive, in Easton’s Simon Silk Mill, is one of the over-the-counter options that is participating this year. Thrive offers teas, post-work out drinks and even milkshakes that are low in calories and sugar.

Also joining the roster is La Perla Tapatia of Forks Township. The sit-down restaurant serves Mexican cuisine.

Returning favorites, Antonio's Pizza, Porters Pub and Easton Wine Project will also appear this year. Piper also noted that Aman’s Artisan Indian Cuisine will feature a KLYR Rum pop-up bar on Saturday, Jan. 22. All proceeds from the event will go to Third Street Alliance.

KLYR Rum, based in Lewisberry, York County, is the title sponsor of Easton Restaurant Week.

Piper said making reservations for a table at sit-down restaurants is encouraged during the busy week.
