HANOVER TWP., LEHIGH CO., Pa. — Lehigh Valley International Airport last month notched its busiest November since 2004, Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority announced Monday.

The number of travelers passing through LVIA rose 8.8% from November 2024 to November 2025, from nearly 80,000 passengers to nearly 87,000, the authority said.

“Travel industry forecasts pointed to one of the busiest holiday seasons on record at airports nationwide. We’ve experienced this firsthand with the steady rise in passenger activity at ABE.”

“Travel industry forecasts pointed to one of the busiest holiday seasons on record at airports nationwide,” Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority Executive Director Thomas Stoudt said in a statement.

“We’ve experienced this firsthand with the steady rise in passenger activity at ABE.”

Much of the increase comes from travelers flying on Allegiant Airlines, which saw 20.5% more passengers in November 2025 than in November 2024, the authority said.

Fuller flights drove much of Allegiant’s growth at LVIA, airport authority spokesman Colin Riccobon said, along with a new route to Fort Meyers, Florida.

The number of passengers flying through the Lehigh Valley on United Airlines dropped more than 23% over the same period.

The change largely stems from a handful of cancelled flights pushing down passenger numbers rather than any permanent schedule changes, Riccobon said.

American Airlines saw passenger loads at LVIA increase modestly — 6.5% — while Delta’s passenger traffic fell about 4%, according to the Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority.

Air cargo shipments, meanwhile, increased 4.4% year-over-year in November.

Last month, LVIA processed more than 11,000 tons of cargo, up from roughly 10,550 tons in November 2024.
