Allentown man dead after his vehicle collided with LANTA bus

An Allentown man died after his vehicle collided with a LANTA bus on Monday morning.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — An Allentown man was pronounced dead Monday morning after the vehicle he was operating collided with a Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority bus.

The 62-year-old victim’s name has been withheld out of respect to his family and until an autopsy is completed on Tuesday to determine the cause of death, according to a news release from the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.

The incident occurred at 7:50 a.m. near West Tilghman Street and North Ott Street in Allentown, according to the release.

Further information about the crash was not immediately released.

The man was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, about 20 minutes after the collision.

Investigating the crash are the coroner’s office, the Allentown Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit and Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
