The Linden Street two-way conversion project was reviewed favorably by the Bethlehem Planning Commission on Thursday night.

Officials approved a $57 million project to convert miles of former railroad tracks into roads and trails between Hamilton Street in Allentown and Race Street in Whitehall Township.

Allentown received $1.5 million in grants from the Lehigh Valley Transportation Study to address transportation safety and carbon emissions in the city.

Officials with the Lehigh Valley's transit authority said its new ValleyRide system can track a customer's ride history and apply the best fare deal based on their usage.

Changes in fare collection are coming this month for LANTA bus riders in the Lehigh Valley.
