This weekend, the PPL Center in Allentown hosts Cirque du Soleil's "Corteo," the tale of a clown imagining his funeral as a spectacle of incredible carnival acts.

“Corteo,” which premiered in Montreal in April 2005, has performed before 10 million spectators in 20 countries on four continents. It will perform six shows March 28-31 at the PPL Center in Allentown.

Considered by friends and colleagues a staple of the Lehigh Valley theater scene, 60-year-old Bill Mutimer died earlier this week. Tributes are pouring in from former students and local theater aficionados.

The musical, based off the Broadway show, debuted on Friday, Feb. 23 and runs through March 10.

The short film showcases the work of six community leaders and is streaming on YouTube.

The Allentown Art Museum has new immersive and interactive exhibition called Restoring Petals. The artwork — which includes framed poems, resin pieces and paper flowers — reflects on the isolation of the pandemic and honors those who died from Covid-19.

Due to its lease not being renewed for 2024, the Pines Dinner Theatre in Allentown will be relocating.

The theatre, which opened in 1981, will hold its last production of “The Mad Ones.”
