SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. — Lehigh Carbon Community College students will be able to study cybersecurity starting in fall.
Through the new program, they'll be able to learn about how to secure digital systems, networks and infrastructures from evolving cyber threats, according to a news release from LCCC.
The community college will offer a cybersecurity associate degree, bringing LCCC total associate degree offerings to 70 majors.

The cybersecurity program also will have a three-course diploma or one-year certificate available.
Cybersecurity courses offered in fall will be online; they include Computer Ethics, Network Security and Cybersecurity Analyst.

Cybersecurity professionals have jobs such as IT technician, security engineer and security administrator.
With the cybersecurity diploma or certificate, students could get a job in the field with a starting hourly wage of $21 to $34, LCCC said.
With the associate degree, students could start at an hourly wage ranging from $35 to $60.
Those wage ranges were provided by LCCC, which sourced them from Lightcast’s 2025 first quarter data that relies on information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Other Lehigh Valley programs
Other Lehigh Valley colleges also have various cybersecurity programs.
Northampton Community College offers an information security major as part of its Center for Cybersecurity Education and Training, which was designated as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency through 2026.
The associate degree can be earned at the Bethlehem campus or partially online.
Cedar Crest College has a cybersecurity bachelor’s degree available for traditional undergraduate students either fully online or in a hybrid format. Adult students can earn the degree fully online. The college also offers a cybersecurity minor.
Muhlenberg Colleges offers an online information systems management bachelor’s degree with a concentration in cybersecurity, and Moravian University has an online master’s degree program in cybersecurity.
Penn State Lehigh Valley offers an accelerated degree incybersecurity analytics and operations.
And DeSales University has a cybersecurity certificate.
