SALISBURY TWP., Pa. — Six children and two adults at Lehigh Christian Academy were taken by ambulance to a local hospital after they became sick at the school Thursday morning, Salisbury Township police said.

Cetronia Ambulance Public Relations Director Kim Blichar said six ambulances were dispatched 9:38 a.m. to a report of a sick person at the school.
A report of a second sick person was received and Western Salisbury Fire Department was additionally called to respond to the small private school on South Cedar Crest Boulevard in western Salisbury Township, police said.
The school is attached to Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church.
"Initial air quality checks were performed with no obvious levels that were cause for concern," police said.
The school was closed for the rest of the day as a precaution and efforts were made to get students to their families, police said.

Police said the building will continue to be checked with metering equipment throughout the day in response to a school request.
The six juveniles and two adults were transported to a nearby Lehigh Valley Health Network hospital for evaluation and treatment, according to police and LVHN.
The building was closed for the remainder of the day, and none on the scene wished to comment.
Parents could be seen at the building taking children home, with some administration and staff still inside.
