Berks Technical Institute's summer event to offer hands-on activities, food trucks and bounce house

Berks Technical Institute will hold its Palm Trees & Power Tools event Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Allentown campus, located at 2200 North Irving St.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Berks Technical Institute will hold a summer luau Saturday at its Allentown campus.

Those interested in learning more about BTI’s programs can stop by 2200 North Irving St. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Palm Trees & Power Tools event, according to a news release.

Attendees will get to explore BTI’s training labs while participating in stations with hands-on activities.

Those activities include the Tiki Torch Circuit Challenge, an electrical activity, and Island Airflow Engineering, an activity about heating, ventilation, air conditioning and basic refrigeration.

There's also the Tiki Triage: Medical Match-Up, an activity for medical clinical assistants, and Big Rigs & Beach Vibes, a photo stop for commercial driver’s license students.

The event will have a bounce house, photobooth and food trucks, too.

BTI programs

BTI offers training for jobs in health care, technology and the skilled trades.

The health care training includes programs on dental assisting, surgical technology and medical billing and coding. There’s also a medical clinical assistant program.

The technology training includes an IT support specialist program.

And the skilled trades program includes electrical and HVAC/BR training, as well as Class A CDL training.

In addition to the Allentown campus, BTI has campuses in Wyomissing, Berks County, and Lewisburg, Union County.
