SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. — A family-friendly fall festival is coming to South Whitehall this weekend, rain or shine.

The Western Lehigh Chamber of Commerce is holding its third annual Fall Fest at Covered Bridge Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 7.

“Fall Fest will transform Covered Bridge Park into a picturesque autumn wonderland where friends and families can come together to revel in the season's beauty,” a news release about the event reads.

The free event will have hayrides, inflatables, a live DJ, crafts, vendors and local food trucks.

The hayrides will be free. They will take guests in a loop around the far side of the park.

“It showcases local organizations, brings about a sense of community and gets people out and celebrating in their community.”
Sarah Yost, the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce Assistant Manager of Affiliated Chambers

Sarah Yost, the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce Assistant Manager of Affiliated Chambers, said the event is part of the chamber’s local outreach initiative.

“It showcases local organizations, brings about a sense of community and gets people out and celebrating in their community,” Yost said.

Yost said the chamber hopes 300 to 700 people will attend.

The current forecast predicts rain Saturday afternoon, but Yost said the event will be held rain or shine. The event has had rainy weather for the past few years.

New features this year include photo opportunities with Parkland’s Trojan mascot, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms’ MeLVin mascot and Snoopy.

There also will be children’s crafts under the pavilion for older and younger kids.
