Applications open soon for public safety grants in Northampton County

EASTON, Pa. — Northampton County on Monday announced it will take applications for 2023 Public Safety Grants.

Applications will be accepted July 24 through Sept. 1 and are open to municipal and volunteer police, fire and emergency medical services organizations in Northampton County. Grant approval announcements are planned for December.

Grant money — in amounts up to $20,000 — is designed to be used for capital improvements, vehicle and equipment purchases and training.

Access to the application is available on the Northampton County Participant Portal.

“While not a core county responsibility, we feel a moral obligation to provide support to fire departments and EMS services across the length and breadth of the county when our budget so permits,” said Northampton County Executive Lamont McClure in a written statement.
