EASTON, Pa. — A 2-year-old Labrador has been installed as the newest member of Northampton County’s Department of Corrections.
The dog in question, Mack, will serve to identify scheduled narcotics and prescription drugs coming in and out of the prison.
Mack was given to the county by an anonymous donor, following the similar donation of Boomer (a bomb- and human-sniffing dog) to Northampton County Sherriff’s Office in 2019.
Mack is expected to save the county money by lowering the number of drug tests needed to identify contraband in seized materials.
