BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Springtime for sigh school seniors means prom season. But nowadays a dress can come with a hefty price tag.
A Northampton County organization is helping students get ready for less.
The idea is to provide low-income students a more affordable option for prom night.
With gowns in every color, cut and style, from size 0 to 28, YWCA Program Director Jen Wanisko says, there’s something for everyone.
"We’re probably saving local Lehigh Valley families about $50,000 in prom related costs," Wanisko
Each gown purchase comes with complimentary shoes, jewelry, a purse and goodie bag of cosmetics for the big day. Young women can stop in with a parent or guardian to pick up their dream dress at the Bethlehem Steelstacks this Saturday, March 7th between 9:30 AM and 1 PM.
The funds raised from the prom dress sale will benefit YWCA programs.
