BETHLEHEM, Pa. — With inclement weather forecast for tonight, ArtsQuest has announced an early start for the sold-out show by country group Old Dominion early on Musikfest's main stage.
Gates for the show now will open at 4 p.m. and the Old Dominion performance will begin at 5 p.m., the festival said in a release.
In addition, Musikfest said that because of the forecast "and in an abundance of caution," the festival areas in Familienplatz and Handwerkplatz will be closed to the public today.
"The safety of our patrons, performers, volunteers, vendors and staff is of the utmost importance to our organization."Musikfest in a release
Also, all Community Stage shows (including Saxsquatch) will be moved inside ArtsQuest Center to Palette & Pour.
The Amish Outlaws now will play from 9:30-11 p.m. inside Musikfest Cafe, instead of outside at Americaplatz, or Levitt Pavilion.
The rest of Musikfest will be open and continue to operate as usual, the festival said.
"The safety of our patrons, performers, volunteers, vendors and staff is of the utmost importance to our organization," Musikfest said in a release.
The festival asked that Old Dominion ticket-holders check back regularly on Musikfest.org, Musikfest social media channels and the Musikfest App powered by PNC.
A sold-out show
The Musikfest website page for Old Dominion show says no tickets remain unsold for the show at the 6,200-seat Steel Stage.
While both the Aug. 1 concert preview night concert by rockers Greta Va Fleet and the Saturday show by hard rock band Shinedown appeared to be sellout, only Old Dominion so far has sold out its tickets in advance this year.
A flood watch remains in effect from 2 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday morning.
Forecasters say as the cold front approaches from the north and west, it will interact with tropical moisture associated with Debby to result in heavy downpours over the area.
Rainfall totals are expected to average 1.5 to 2.5 inches, but with locally higher amounts possibly exceeding 5 inches.
