United Way gets new CFO from another Valley institution

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — After eight years of working at, then leading, the National Museum of Industrial History, its president has accepted a new role.

Museum Chief Executive Officer Kara Mohsinger has become chief financial officer for the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, a $27 million nonprofit dedicated to the health, safety and education of the people of the Valley.

  • Mohsinger replaces Debra Klocek, the United Way’s vice president of finance and administration, who retired after 28 years with the organization

“We are excited that Kara is going to be joining our team,” United Way Vice President for Marketing and Communications Laura McHugh said.
“She's a very accomplished leader, well known in the Lehigh Valley.

“Kara’s proven leadership and dedication to the mission of the museum have strengthened countless partnerships and educational programs."

Mohsinger started as chief financial office at NMIH.

Back at the museum

Andria Zaia, NMIH’s curator of collections, was appointed interim executive director to follow Mohsinger.

Mohsinger is stepping in as Debra Klocek, the United Way’s vice president of finance and administration, retires after 28 years with the organization.
