BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Two top comedian/actors, backed by a Grammy-winning bluegrass band, will return to Wind Creek Event Center, it was announced.
Comedian/actor Steve Martin and funnyman Martin Short, who together have starred in successful film comedies, will perform The Best of Steve Martin and Martin Short at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6.
The performance will have the duo backed by jazz keyboardist Jeff Babko and the Steep Canyon Rangers, the North Carolina bluegrass band with which Martin recorded his Grammy-winning 2009 album “The Crow: New Songs for the 5-String Banjo.”

Martin, 80, after a successful career in television, movies and even writing books and screenplays, has released six banjo albums — three with Steep River Canyon.
All of them hit No. 1 on the Bluegrass chart.
His 2013 album "Love Had Come For You," with platinum-selling Edie Brickell of Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, hit No. 21 on Billboard's overall Albums chart.
His most recent was 2017’s “The Long-Awaited Album” with Steep Canyon Rangers.
He has been nominated for six Grammy Awards for music albums and won three — the latest for Best American Roots Song for "Love Has Come to You" in 2014.
In 2002, his banjo playing with Earl Scruggs won a Grammy for Best Country Instrumental Performance.
He released his first solo music album, “The Crow: New Songs for the 5-String Banjo,” in 2009, for which he won the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album.
His first two albums of comedy material — “Let’s Get Small” in 1977 and “A Wild and Crazy Guy” in 1978, both won Grammys for Best Comedy Recording.
The latter reached No. 2 spot on Billboard’s overall Albums chart, and was certified platinum.
Martin Short, Steep River Canyon
Short, 75, starred with Martin in the films “¡Three Amigos!” in 1986, “Father of the Bride” in 1991 and “Father of the Bride II” in 1995.
In all, he has had parts in more than three dozen feature films, and was a cast member on television’s “Saturday Night Live” in 1984-85 and has made several guest appearances since.

Steep Canyon Rangers formed in 2000 and released its debut album, "Old Dreams and New Dreams," in 2001.
It first hit the charts with its fourth album, 2005's "One Dime at a Time," which peaked at No. 13 on the Bluegrass chart.
But it has had its biggest success with Martin.
In 2009, the group began performing with Martin and accompanying him on his "world bluegrass tour," which played venues such as New York's Carnegie Hall and London's Royal Festival Hall.
The group's 2012 album "Nobody Knows You" won the Grammy for Best Bluegrass album. It also was nominated in 2021 for its album "North Carolina Songbook."
Steep Canyon Rangers played at Musikfest Cafe at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in June.
Martin and Short also performed at the event center in 2024, and when it was known as Sands Bethlehem Event Center in 2017 and 2019. Martin played at Easton’s State Theatre in 2010.
