Three chart-topping 2000s acts to play Wind Creek Event Center

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A rock band that in the 2000s had two platinum hits, a platinum album and put three albums atop the Alternative chart is coming to Wind Creek Event Center, it has been announced.

It will be joined by an alternative band that in the early 2000s had three gold and platinum albums and three gold hits.

And by a singer who in the 2000s and early 2010s had three gold and platinum hits and put three albums in the Top 10 on the rock charts.

Tickets, at $59.50 for general admission standing and $89.50 for seating on the wings, are available at www.windcreekeventcenter.com.

Blue October, best known for the 2006 platinum hits “Hate Me” and “Into The Ocean,” will play the event center at 6:30 p.m. July 27.

It will be joined by Switchfoot, best known for its hits “Meant to Live” in 2003, “Dare You to Move” in 2004 and “Stars” in 2005.

And by singer Matt Nathanson, best known for his 2008 double-platinum hit “Come On Get Higher,” and the gold “Faster” and “Run” (featuring Sugarland), both in 2005.

Tickets, at $59.50 for general admission standing and $89.50 for seating on the wings, are available at www.windcreekeventcenter.com.

The tour rotates presentation of the three-artist lineup with each show, according to a release.

Hits have continued

Blue October first hit the charts in 2006 with its fourth album, “Foiled,” which sold platinum and hit the Top 10 on the Rock chart. Its next album, 2009’s “Approaching Normal,” peaked at No. 4 on the Alternative chart.

Its next three discs — 2011’s “Any Man in America,” 2013’s “Sway” and 2016’s “Home” all hit No. 1 on the Alternative chart. It continued to hit the Top 10 on that chart with 2020’s “This is What I Live For.”

Its most recent disc was “Spinning the Truth Around (Part II),” released in October.

In all, it has placed 18 songs in the Top 40 on various charts, most recently with its new single "Everything We Lost In the Fire."

Nathanson first had chart success with his 2007 album “Some Mad Hope,” which peaked at No. 3 on the indie chart and included “Come On Get Higher.”

His next disc, 2011’s “Modern Love,” hit No. 4 on the Alternative chart and produced both “Faster” and “Run.” He had two more albums hit the Rock chart Top 10 — 2013’s “Last of the Great Pretenders” and 2015’s “Show Me Your Fangs.”

His most recent album was 2022’s “Boston Accent.”

Success of Switchfoot

Switchfoot first had success on the Christian chart with three albums. Its 2000 disc "Learning To Breathe" went gold and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Gospel Album.

But it had its biggest success with 2003’s “The Beautiful Letdown,” with its Top 20 gold hits "Dare You to Move" and "Meant to Live."

That disc sold triple platinum, hit the Top 15 and won Switchfoot six Dove Awards for Christian music, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Artists of the Year.

Switchfoot continued to have success with its next album, 2005's "Nothing is Sound," which was its highest-charting, hitting No. 3, selling gold and producing the gold hit "Stars."

In all, the band has released seven full albums since, and had a dozen songs hit the Alternative chart and nearly three dozen on the Christian chart.
