HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Pa. — State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred in the township early Wednesday.
According to a release, troopers were dispatched at 6:16 a.m. to the area of the Route 22 eastbound off ramp to Route 512. There, they discovered South Amboy, New Jersey resident John A. Pollard, Jr., 65, had been struck by a vehicle.
The Northampton County Coroner’s Office pronounced Pollard deceased at the scene.
Trooper Nathan Branosky, public information officer for PSP's Troop M, said the vehicle that struck Pollard left the scene.
On Thursday, Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek said Pollard's cause and manner of death are pending additional testing and investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information, or anyone who may have witnessed the incident, to contact PSP Bethlehem at 610-861-2026.
Assisting with the investigation are the Northampton County Coroner’s Office, Troop M Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit, Troop M Forensic Service Unit, the state Department of Transportation and Colonial Regional Police Department.
