WILLIAMS TWP., Pa. – A 65-year-old Montgomery County man was killed Wednesday while riding a bike in the township, according to state police.
Robert Marley, of North Wales, was struck by a vehicle around 10:09 a.m. at the intersection of Steely Hill and County Line roads, state police said in a news release.
Marley was traveling south on Steely Hill Road and making a left turn onto County Line Road, the release said. At the same time, a Honda Accord driven by 84-year-old James Pavlica of Kintnersville, Bucks County, was traveling west on County Line Road and making a right turn onto Steely Hill Road.
As Marley and Pavilica approached one another, Pavlica attempted to avoid a collision by swerving to the eastern shoulder of the roadway but was unable to, striking Marley’s bicycle with the front end of the Honda, state police said.
Marley, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Along with state police, Easton Emergency Squad also responded to the call.
