Reigning Best New Male Country Artist of the Year to play Allentown's PPL Center

Zach Top, the reigning Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music's reigning New Male Artist of the Year, will play Allentown's PPL Center on Aug. 21, it was announced. Tickets go on sale April 16.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association's reigning New Male Artist of the Year will perform at Allentown's PPL Center, it was announced.

Zach Top, who in just two years has had four gold or platinum songs and is best known for his 2024 double-platinum hit "I Never Lie," will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 21, the venue announced.

Tickets, the prices of which were not immediately announced, will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. April 17 at the PPL Center website and the box office at 701 Hamilton St., Allentown.

Top, known for his neo-traditional country music sound, released his major-label debut album, "Cold Brew & Country Music," in 2024.

It peaked at No. 4 on the Country chart and crossed over to No. 31 on the overall Albums chart, and reached gold sales.

Its first single, "Sounds Like the Radio," sold gold and hit No. 15 on the Country Radio Airplay chart.

But its second single, "I Never Lie," went to No. 2 on that chart and achieved double-platinum sales. A third single from the disc, "Bad Luck," also hit the Top 40 and sold gold.

More awards and second album

The album also won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Country Album and "I Never Lie" also was nominated for Best Country Song and Best Country Performance.

The disc also was nominated for the ACM's and the CMA's Album of the Year, and "I Never Lie" for the CMA's Single of the Year and Song of the Year.

Top's sophomore album, "Ain't in it For My Health," released in August, also peaked at No. 4 on the Country chart and No. 11 on the overall Albums chart.

Its first single, "Good Times and Tan Lines," peaked at no. 12 on the Country Airplay chart, but its second single, "Use Me," sold gold.

A third single, "South of Sanity," this year peaked at No. 23 on the Country Airplay chart.

Top also this year was nominated for the ACM's Male Artist of the Year, "Ain't In It for My Health" for Album of the Year, and "I Never Lie" for Single of the Year and Song of the Year.

Those awards will be chosen later this year.
