BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Local residents who love where they live can now enjoy exclusive perks while showcasing their Lehigh Valley pride.
The Lehigh Valley Ambassador program, a collective group of people who care about the Valley and how it’s represented, rolled out in the spring of 2023.
The initiative, which originally required completion of an online course, was designed to make people more engaged and educated regional advocates.
Now, people can join the Ambassador community just by opting in and saying ‘yes!’, according to Sandra Bieber, manager of operations and community development for Discover Lehigh Valley.
Taking that step will unlock a digital membership card, discounts and perks available only to Lehigh Valley Ambassadors.
It includes savings on food, events and venues around Lehigh and Northampton counties.
“It’s a great win-win for both the Ambassador and the businesses,” Bieber said Monday.

The perks were announced to Ambassadors on Wednesday and the digital cards soon will follow.
“We want to get people out there to really be visitors and tourists in their own region,” Bieber said.

The new digital membership card for Ambassadors will offer discounted admission at places like Lehigh Valley Zoo, HangDog Outdoor Adventure and Lehigh Valley Grand Prix.
There’s 15% off race registration for the Lehigh Valley Running Festival, $10 off adult tickets to The Spooktacular Balloon Festival, and a percentage off food and axe-throwing at the brand new B Social.

A couple of restaurants also are offering up savings, including Amigos Mexican Grill on Hamilton Street in Allentown, or a free appetizer at Aman’s Indian Artisan Cuisine in Easton.
A dessert discount comes in the form of $5 regular sundaes at Drizzle Ice Cream locations in Alburtis and Schnecksville.
Afterward, head over to Champion Hand Wash on MacArthur Road in Whitehall to get 15% off a carwash.
'This initiative is to boost community pride'
Bieber is not only proud of the Ambassador program, but thrilled that it’s continuing to grow and gain momentum.
“It’s transformed into this community where people can access these discounts. And the Ambassador program has always been free, and now you get these discounts, perks and exclusive experiences for our region,” she said.
“What really makes this community different is the fact that we have inner collaboration with one another, with business leaders, with the business owners and attraction and event planners.
“This initiative is to boost community pride, to be able to say, ‘I love my backyard. And happier community members mean happier places of work, means happier thriving children have happier ways of life.
“So that’s really the goal is to enjoy the moment and enjoy it where you are.”
Ambassadors waiting for their digital membership should keep an eye on their email. The membership card should arrive in a couple of days, Bieber said, and can be placed in an Apple or Google phone wallet and used at participating partners.
