In the TV series, Randy and Mr. Lahey were the show’s main protagonists — the drunken superintendent and his assistant/lover at Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Nova Scotia, Canada.
The Canadian “mockumentary” series revolves around their interaction with trailer park residents Ricky, Julian and Bubbles, who try to make money through petty crimes while avoiding the police.
Randy is always shirtless, and known for his protruding gut and addiction to cheeseburgers.
The show originally ran successfully for eight seasons on the cable network Showcase, where it was the network’s highest-rated Canadian series.
It began running on Netflix in 2014 and continued production through 2018.
Randy's Cheeseburger Picnic also performed at The Gin Mill and Grille and at the former Maingate nightclub in Allentown in 2024.
