Muses at the Ice House will return to The Ice House in Bethlehem on April 6.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A singer whose latest album placed high on the Billboard Blues chart and another singer who played a headline show at the Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks series last year will headline a mini-festival of “Music of the women, by the women and for everyone” in Bethlehem, it was announced.

Folky bluegrass singer Abbie Gardner, whose latest album, “DobroSinger,” hit No. 11 on the Billboard Blues Chart and who’s part of well-known folk trio Red Molly, will headline Muses at the Ice House from 4-9 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Charles A. Brown Ice House, 56 River St., Bethlehem.

Muses at the Ice House will benefit the venerable Bethlehem folk music club Godfrey Daniels, which announced the show.

Also on the bill will be U.K. Americana singer Danni Nicholls, indie-folk piano singer-songwriter Jessica Smucker and indie-folk singer-songwriter Kathy Moser.

Tickets, at $45 in advance and $50 day of show, are available at the Godfrey Daniels website.

“This event is all about creating unforgettable memories, sharing the love for music, and bringing the community together in a harmonious celebration,” Godfrey Daniels said in a news release.

“Muses at the Ice House is more than a music festival; it’s a gathering of kindred spirits celebrating the power of music and the boundless potential of female artists.”

The performers

Gardner is a folky, bluegrass, steel dobro-playing singer who performs solo and with Americana harmony trio Red Molly. Her latest recording, “DobroSinger,” is a raw dobro-and-voice outing.

Cotton is a New York City-based singer/songwriter originally from Hopewell, New Jersey. In 2010, she was chosen Lilith Fair’s Ourstage Local Talent Winner for New York City and since has shared the stage with Robert Cray, Bon Jovi and Gregg Allman.

Danni Nicholls

• Danni Nicholls, an Americana artist from England who has performed for more than a decade and now is based in Nashville. She has released four albums and has been compared to Linda Ronstadt, Brandi Carlile and Roseanne Cash.

• Jessica Smucker, an indie-folk pianist-singer-songwriter who has won or placed in several national songwriting contests, including SolarFest’s Singer/Songwriter Showcase Competition, the Connecticut Folk Festival Song Competition and the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest.

• Kathy Moser, an indie-folk singer-songwriter whose career has taken her from folk coffeehouses to closer to rock and back again. Moser has been described as having hints of Suzanne Vega and Woody Guthrie.

The festival is a biannual presentation that started in 2020 as a continuation of the Muses In The Vineyard music, wine and food festival held 2012-16 in Columbia, New Jersey, organizers said.

Former Red Molly singer/songwriter Carolann Solebello performed at the first Muses at the Ice House.
