ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A man who opened fire during a shootout in which six people were shot and others injured in downtown near the city Dominican festival and parade has been convicted of attempted murder.
Yunior Peralta-Quintana, 23, of Allentown, was convicted Friday by a Lehigh County Court jury after a four-day trial before Judge Anna-Kristie M. Marks, District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan and Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca announced.

He also was convicted of three counts of aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and carrying a firearm without a license in the Aug. 25, 2024, shootings near the 100 block of North 7th Street.
Peralta-Quintana also was convicted of a May 7, 2025, incident in which he was charged with intimidation of a witness/refrain from reporting, criminal solicitation to intimidation a witness/refrain from reporting, intimidate a witness/victim to withhold Testimony, solicitation to intimidate a witness/withhold testimony, retaliation against a witness or
victim and solicitation to retaliate against a witness or victim.
He faces a possible sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
He is scheduled for sentencing on March 5 by Marks.
Second shooter alleged
Also charged in the shooting was Miguel Angel Ovalles Ubri, 28.
He faces charges of attempted homicide and two counts of aggravated assault, as well as simple assault and reckless endangerment.

Authorities said the two fired 20 shots before police arrived and fired a dozen shots at each other.
Authorities said Allentown Police were called to the scene about 6:45 p.m. Aug. 25, 2024.
"The investigation revealed an extremely chaotic crime scene that occurred that included surveillance and officer body-worn cameras that showed crowds of people enjoying the festival,
including children and young adults," authorities said in the release.
"They were sent scrambling for cover after a barrage of gunshots were fired at each other by both Peralta-Quintana and Ovalles Ubri."
Police responded, 'saved lives'
Authorities said multiple Allentown Police officers responded to the scene and arrived while the two defendants still were shooting.
Two of those officers fired during the incident, but none of the wounded were shot by those officers, according to the release.
No officers were injured.

Holihan previously said officers saved at least two lives by applying tourniquets.
Holihan previously said several surveillance videos showed a shootout in a parking lot in the 100 block of North 7th Street.
Ovalles Ubri and Peralta-Quintana could be seen near each other in a crowd of people in the lot before the shooting breaks out.
Six people total, including Ovalles Ubri, were injured by gunfire, Holihan said. Two others were injured during the shootout but not by gunfire, he said.
