Elderly woman fatally struck by car in South Whitehall parking lot

The South Whitehall Township Police Department is investigating the death of a 90-year-old woman fatally struck by a car in the parking lot of the Yurconic Agency on North Cedar Crest Boulevard.

SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – Police are investigating the death of an elderly woman hit by a car in the parking lot of an insurance agency on Monday afternoon.

The incident happened at approximately 1:20 p.m. in the parking area of the Yurconic Agency at 101 N. Cedar Crest Blvd., the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said in a release.

Evelyn M. Rushatz, 90, of South Whitehall Township, was rushed to the emergency department of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, but did not survive her injuries.

The cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and chest, the coroner said.

In addition to the coroner’s office, the South Whitehall Township Police Department and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
