A history of successful albums
Wilco was formed in 1994 by Jeff Tweedy and other members of Uncle Tupelo after singer Jay Farrar left.
It released its debut album, "A.M." in 1995, but didn't have chart success until its sophomore disc, 1996's "Being There" and 1999's "Summerteeth," both of which were Top 75 on Billboard's overall Albums chart.
But its biggest success came with 2001's "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot," which had the hit "Can't Stand It" and peaked at No. 13 on the overall Albums chart and had gold record sales.
Subsequent albums "A Ghost is Born" in 2004, "Sky Blue Sky" in 2007, "Wilco (the Album)" in 2009 and "The Whole Love" in 2005 all charted in the Top 10 on Billboard's Albums chart.
"A Ghost is Born" won two Grammy Awards — Best Alternative Music Album and Best Recording Package.
"Wilco (The Album)" produced the group's top-charting single, "You Never Know."
The group's most recent album, its 13th, was 2023's "Cousin." It peaked at No. 65, but produced the No. 3 Adult Alternative hit "Evicted."
It also released an EP, “Hot Sun Cool Shroud,” in 2024.
