BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Musikfest has its first sold-out headliner concert for its 40th-year festival. And a third is within striking distance.
Goo Goo Dolls, the 1990s-2000s alternative rock group who produced the platinum hits “Name,” “Iris,” “Slide” and “Black Balloon,” has sold out its concert for Wednesday night, Aug. 9, on Musikfest’s Steel Stage, ArtsQuest Director of Communications Jennifer Loconte confirmed.
- Goo Goo Dolls' concert with O.A.R. on Musikfest's main stage tonight has sold out
- It's Musikfest's second sellout headliner this year — pop band AJR's opening-night concert Aug. 3 also sold out
- Soft rockers Train's tickets for its closing night concert Aug. 13 also are dwindling. Musikfest has never had more than three headliner concerts sell out in a single year
Only three, non-contiguous seats at Steel Stage’s VIP Steel Terrace, at $219 each, remained for sale Wednesday morning on the Musikfest website.
Goo Goo Dolls, who will perform with opening act O.A.R. starting at 7 p.m., joined indie-pop trio AJR, which sold out its preview night concert on Musikfest’s main stage Aug. 3.
It's the second straight sold-out show for Goo Goo Dolls at Musikfest. The band also sold out its 2019 show with Train at the festival.
Also, radio soft-rockers Train, which headlines Musikfest’s closing night on Sunday, has dwindling tickets available.
The ticket sales page on Musikfest’s website shows all the sections closest to the stage with only a small number of single seats, and no contiguous seats, available. Standing-room tickets and Steel Terrace seats remained available.
Musikfest has never had more than three concerts sell out in a single year. It did that in 2018, with Toby Keith, Santana and Chicago all sold out.
Musikfest in 2022 had just one headline act sell out — Willie Nelson.
Tickets remain available for shows by comedian Gabriel Iglesias on Thursday and Maren Morris on Saturday.
None of the festival’s other headline acts – Walk The Moon, G-Eazy, Dan + Shay, Walker Hayes and Keith Sweat and Monica – sold out.
