ArtsQuest will present the first Upper Mac Days in Upper Macungie Township's Grange Park from Jun 3-5.

UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. — A new ArtsQuest festival in conjunction with Upper Macungie Township will bring three days of family-friendly music, games, food and amusements, it was announced Tuesday.

The first Upper Mac Days will be Friday, June 23, through Sunday, June 25, in Grange Park, the township's 165-acre open space.

  • ArtsQuest has announced details of its first Upper Mac Days, among a series of events the organization plans in Upper Macungie Township's Grange Park
  • The festival will offer family-friendly music, games, food and amusements
  • It's set for June 23-25. Tickets are on sale now at ArtsQuest Center at 101 Founder's Way, Bethlehem and www.artsquest.org/upper-mac-days-tickets/.

Daily tickets, at $9 and $5 for ages 13 and younger in advance and $14 and $10 starting June 18, are on sale at ArtsQuest Center at 101 Founder's Way, Bethlehem and www.artsquest.org/upper-mac-days-tickets/. Premium-access tickets also are available.

ArtsQuest revealed details of the event, which was first announced as a series of events partnering with Upper Macungie for a music festival and other events this summer.

A rare off-SteelStacks event

The events are significant because ArtsQuest rarely offers programming off its home SteetStacks campus in South Bethlehem.

The organization's presentation of the Sangriafest wine festival in Upper Macungie in 2019 — also a partnership with the township — was the first time it ever held a festival outside of Bethlehem.

“We’re excited to welcome the Upper Macungie community to this inaugural event,” ArtsQuest Chief Operating Officer Curt Mosel said.

He said the festival will have "an emphasis on the residents that live here — from the contests and tournaments to musical performances and entertainment, and all the food and fun.”

A highlight will be Firefighter Games, a three-game friendly competition presented by Upper Macungie Fire Departments (Fogelsville, Trexlertown, Breinigsville and Kuhnsville).

Firefighters will be dressed in full gear to compete in a Bucket Brigade, Portable Pump Race and a Barrel Competition.

“We can’t wait to interact with the local community at Upper Mac Days and enjoy some friendly competition between fellow firefighters,” township Fire Commissioner Peter Christ said.

“Responding to fires and other emergencies is our mission but being able to get to know our residents and their families in a fun and festive setting is something we look forward to.”

Music, dog beauty pageants, more

Musical performances will include The BriTles, Flirtin' with the Mob, The Wonton Soups, The Stray Seeds, James Supra & Sarah Ayers Band, The Lesson Center, Hunkajunk, Joyous, School of Rock, DJ Jamal Knight and others to be announced.

Additional activities and attractions include two dog beauty pageants, a shoofly pie eating contest, apple bobbing, a Cyr Wheel performance, Macungie: The Game Show, cornhole and kong pong tournaments The Flame Noveau Fire Dance Cabaret and a series of interactive exhibits geared toward kids to be announced.

There also will be bounce houses, bungee trampolines, activities from Valley Preferred Cycling Center and the United Bowhunters of PA. ArtsQuest said more will be announced soon.
