UPPER SAUCON TWP., Pa. — A husband and wife were found dead in their home Thursday from gunshot wounds — the result of a murder-suicide, law enforcement officials said.
Helen Teresa Knieriem and Roy T. Knieriem, both 76, were found in the home at 2359 Taylor Drive following a phone call to 911, the office said in a news release.
The initial investigation revealed that Helen Knieriem appeared to have died as the result of a single gunshot wound to the body and Roy Knieriem from a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to the body, authorities said.

Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio ruled that the manner of Roy Knieriem's death suicide.
Buglio ruled the manner of Helen Knieriem's death as homicide.
He said an investigation determined Roy Knieriem shot his wife, then shot himself.
Buglio said the deaths happened at 10:17 a.m.
There were no other people present at the home, no witnesses known to police and no additional injuries, according to a release from the Lehigh County District Attorney's office.
"Investigators are confident that there is not a current threat to the community related to this incident," the release said.
The investigation includes Upper Saucon Township Police Department, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
