the Office of the Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigation of Drug Control found a slew of drugs, illegal firearms and explosives at his Upper Macungie home.

UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. — An Upper Macungie man faces numerous charges after authorities said they used a search warrant to seize a cache of illegal drugs, firearms and explosives from his home and vehicle.

Ronal Lee Erney, 33, of Cricklewood Road in Fogelsville, was apprehended Wednesday after a narcotics agent working under the Office of the Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigation of Drug Control executed a search warrant, authorities said.

Erney was charged with three felony counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl; one second-degree felony count of prohibited possession of a firearm; and a second-degree felony count of possession or manufacture of an explosive device.

He also faces three misdemeanor counts of unlawful possession of possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl, and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The affidavit says the agent, Thomas Sedor, arrived at Erney’s home and observed his 2011 Cadillac arrive on scene at 11:35 a.m. May 1.

Sedor and two additional agents approached Erney, identified themselves, and placed him into custody, it says.

Seizing substances, more

During a pat down, the agents found about $1,400 and a cell phone on Ereny, the affidavit says.

Shortly thereafter, additional agents entered the residence and seized 800 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 793 suspected fentanyl pills, 283 grams of suspected cocaine, three rifles and 10 pistols, and about $1,800 in U.S. currency.

Also, multiple components used to make improvised explosive devices, including flash powder, fusing and cardboard hulls, a half-stick of dynamite, as well as digital scales and packaging material commonly used to process, package and distribute controlled substances.

A search of Erney’s vehicle found a semiautomatic pistol, 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 3.5 grams of cocaine, 72 suspected fentanyl pills, a cell phone and about $2,000.

During a recorded audio statement, Erney admitted he resided at the home and selling fentanyl pills, methamphetamine and cocaine from the residence, according to the affidavit.

Erney also admitted to possessing all of the rifles and pistols inside the residence, and to possessing and making all improvised explosive devices in the residence.

All suspected drugs, including the pills, methamphetamine, and cocaine were tested and found to contain the suspected substances, according to the affidavit.

Erney was remanded to Lehigh County Jail under $250,000 bail.
