ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Lehigh County commissioners this week retained its leadership with two unanimous votes.

  • Lehigh County's Board of Commissioners have named leadership positions for the new year
  • Commissioner Geoff Brace has been re-elected as board chair
  • Commissioner Jeff Dutt was re-elected to serve as vice-chair

Commissioner Geoff Brace once again was chosen chairman during the board's reorganization meeting.
No other commissioners were nominated.

Also, Commissioner Jeffery Dutt was re-elected vice-chairman – also without opposition.

“We try and keep it simple around here. Just call a ‘Jeff’ and hopefully we will be able to point you in the right direction,” Brace jokingly said after he and Dutt were elected to the positions.

Geoff Brace, with a joke noting that he and vice-chair Jeff Dutt share similar names.

Brace, a lifelong resident of Lehigh County, has served on the board for nearly a decade. He first was elected in 2013 and took office a year later.

Dutt has been a member of the board since 2020, and he, too, is a lifelong resident of Lehigh County.

During this week’s meeting, commissioners also set a meeting schedule for the rest of the year.

The board’s next meeting will be Wednesday, Jan. 11.
