HELLERTOWN, Pa. — You can travel back 300 years in just five hours.
Saucon Valley will welcome families and history lovers of all ages, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for that step back in time.
Hellertown-Lower Saucon Heritage Day will offer a petting zoo, arts and crafts, 18th-century and Civil War re-enactments, historic tours and more of the sort.

In a release, HHS President Don Mills said Heritage Day — a free event held at both the Heller-Wagner Grist Mill Complex (150 W. Walnut St.) and the Michael Heller Homestead (1892 Friedensville Road) — is “one of the highlights” annually for families in the area.
“It’s a chance for people of all ages to experience our local history firsthand, enjoy great food and entertainment, and connect with the traditions that make this area so special,” Mills said.

'From colonial times to the present'
Bringing the era to life comes through a yearly partnership among Hellertown Historical Society, Lower Saucon Township Historical Society, Saucon Valley Conservancy and Saucon Rail Trail Oversight Commission.
HHS operates out of the aforementioned grist mill complex.
It “offers a glimpse into the town’s history, showcasing exhibits that explore local life from colonial times to the present,” according to the release.
Also mark your calendars for the group’s Election Day Bake Sale on May 20 and the Community Yard Sale coming up the first Saturday in June.
