BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A Muhlenberg College study that explored the links between public health and politics is the subject of PBS39’s latest “Community Conversation” series.
“A Community Conversation: Pa. Health and Politics” will be broadcast at 6 tonight and streamed live on PBS39.org.
It takes a deeper look at the 2025 Pennsylvania Health Survey by the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion, led by professor Christopher Borick.
The institute released the survey in April.
Among the findings was one in three Pennsylvanians believe there is a link between childhood immunizations and autism. The survey also found considerable differences in public health opinions along political party divides.
The hourlong program is hosted by PBS39 Executive Producer Brittany Sweeney.
The show explores how Pennsylvanians view key public health issues — from mental health and community wellness to health care access and political influence on health policy.
Besides Borick, guests include:
- Dr. Jeffrey Jahre, senior vice president of medical and academic affairs, St. Luke’s University Health Network;
- Dr. Thomas Whalen, retired chief medical officer, Lehigh Valley Health Network;
- State Rep. Mike Schlossberg, D-Lehigh;
- Rajika Reed, vice president for community health, SLUHN;
- Beth Peters, assistant professor of psychology, DeSales University;
- Dr. James James, chairman, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health, SLUHN.
