WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. — A new skin care spa is now open at the Lehigh Valley Mall. It’s called Face Foundrié, and it’s a company that seemed to take off following the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We had those masks on for hours and hours along those days and people who did not have acne, now have acne."Melissa Gorbel, Face Foundrié, Bethlehem
"The masks are gone and I cannot get my face to clear up. We have services for that for you,” said Melissa Gorbel, manager of the Lehigh Valley location that opened this summer.
The company’s vice president of marketing, Cheyanne Thurston, echoed that sentiment.
“That's actually when we really saw our concept kind of skyrocket; as people really craved that like physical touch, being in person and not being able to have these services for three months just emphasized how important it was to them,” she said.
The new business at the Lehigh Valley Lifestyle Center has a different concept from typical day spas, Face Foundrié focuses solely on the face. Libby Pavelec, one of their marketing strategists, said, “We are a focus facial bar, we specialize in all things face facials, brows, lashes and skin care. We have locations nationwide and we're headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota."
At the location by the mall, services span a wide range, starting from quick facials at $75. Gorbel says less than a month after opening those who work there are hearing positive feedback.
“It's a new concept. It's nothing that the Lehigh Valley has or has ever had before. It's different. We are not your traditional salon and day spa that you are walking in and spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars and hours."
Gobel said she sees a lot of working and stay-at-home-moms come in to take a break and treat themselves.
