Word of Wild's treatment came the same day the House Ethics Committee announced it is launching an investigation into embattled Republican Rep. George Santos.
As the ranking Democrat on the ethics committee, Wild will co-lead the probe.
Santos, a Republican from New York who took office this year, has drawn deep scrutiny for lies and embellishments about his resume and personal life.
Wild will co-lead the investigation with Rep. David Joyce, R-Ohio, with two other lawmakers from each party.
