ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - A Pennsylvania therapist is contributing to a women's health book due out this month.
“Women Who Shine” is a collection of real-life experiences from women around the country and Canada.
The book is a collection of stories by women who have emerged from darkness into light.
Grubb’s chapter, “The Other Side,” includes her struggles with depression and relationships.
“As a mental health therapist, I feel that it's important to be open about my own struggles because there is a stigma about mental health and if I can't be open and honest about where I've come from, I've contributed to that stigma, and I think it also then gives people hope, like, yeah, healing’s possible,” Grubb said.
She writes about her decision to go back to school after 20 years and make a career change into therapy.
“Women Who Shine” will be released on Aug. 25. Grubb will be releasing two of her own books through Kate Butler.
