Thunderstorms, damaging wind threats in weather forecast again

Showers and thunderstorms with the chance to produce downpours are likely Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, through Tuesday night with rainfall amounts of one to two inches, according to the National Weather Service.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - It’s shaping up to be an active weather week.

Saturday’s weather plagued Musikfest and there’s a chance more of the same is in store Sunday. The forecast high is 85.

Thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening could be severe with the potential for damaging downburst winds, according to the National Weather Service. There’s a marginal risk for late-night flash flooding.

A hot and humid day is in the forecast for Monday, with sunny skies and highs in the low 90s. Then more heavy rain is on the way Tuesday.

Heat indexes will be in the mid 90s Monday in the Lehigh Valley region.

Showers and thunderstorms with the chance to produce downpours are likely Tuesday through Tuesday night, with rainfall amounts of one to two inches.

Flash flooding is possible for the entire region, but especially in urban areas and those with poor drainage.

It will cool down later in the week, with a high of 75 Wednesday and 78 Thursday; both days have a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
