BETHLEHEM, Pa. — It's looking like a soggy Friday for a region that could use some moisture.
Heavy rain is in the forecast for the Lehigh Valley on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters posted a flood watch starting at 6 a.m. Friday for the Philadelphia region and its suburbs.
While the watch does not extend into Lehigh or Northampton counties for now, the weather service said our region could get an inch to 1.5 inches of rain Friday into Saturday.
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm are likely in the Lehigh Valley after 11 a.m. Friday, with some of the storms producing heavy rainfall, the weather service said.
A high of 82 is expected, with showers likely and patchy fog into Friday night and a low of 70.

A chance of showers and storms will persist into Saturday before giving way to partly sunny skies and a high of 88, according to the forecast.
The Philadelphia region could get up to 2 inches of rain when all is said and done, with amounts up to 1.5 inches into Saturday at the Jersey Shore, too, the weather service said.
The flood watch goes until 2 p.m. Saturday, with flash flooding possible, especially in urban and poor drainage areas.
