According to the weather service, the "excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas."
This is due to a slow moving line of heavy showers and thunderstorms anticipated to start and move east, towards the region, at noon.
Flash flooding will be possible Sunday afternoon and evening. Make sure to enable Wireless Emergency Alerts on your phone. If flooding occurs while you’re outdoors, immediately get to higher ground, and NEVER enter flood waters in a vehicle or on foot. #PAwx #NJwx #DEwx #MDwx pic.twitter.com/jEVHmlVv1v

Residents are encouraged to monitor forecasts and staying vigilant for flood warnings. Those who live in flood-prone areas should be especially prepared.
The rain threats in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas will continue through at least midweek.
