BETHLEHEM, Pa. — How can you be sure your vote counts?

A special PBS39 program, "A Community Conversation: Protecting Your Vote," aired Wednesday night on PBS39 and streamed at PBS39.org.

Hosted by LehighValleyNews.com politics reporter Tom Shortell, the program detailed how the Nov. 5 election is being conducted in Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley — and protocols in place to count votes in what has been a long and contentious campaign season

Among the guests:

  • Al Schmidt, Secretary of the Commonwealth, who oversees elections in Pennsylvania
  • Lauren Cristella, president and CEO of the Committee of Seventy
  • Phil Armstrong, Lehigh County executive
  • Lamont McClure, Northampton County executive
  • Sandra Simon, a Lehigh County judge of elections
  • Ricky Santee, a former Northampton County election solicitor

The 30-minute program will be rebroadcast at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, on PBS39.
