NORTH WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Donald Trump’s upcoming campaign rally in Schnecksville is expected to cause traffic disruptions throughout the Lehigh Valley, state police warn.

A news release Wednesday advised of anticipated traffic delays and intermittent road closures from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the following areas:

  • Route 22 both Eastbound and Westbound
  • Route 309 both Northbound and Southbound (to the area of State Route 873)
  • Old Packhouse Road in Schnecksville

According to the release, it’s anticipated disruptions on major thoroughfares will cause secondary roads throughout the region to also be impacted.
Message signs will be located throughout the area advising motorists of traffic conditions, the release said.

Motorists are encouraged to use www.511pa.com to follow the most up-to-date travel conditions Saturday.

Lehigh County Republican Committee Chairman Joe Vichot told LehighValleyNews.com his organization has been coordinating for the event with the Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee and the Republican Party of Pennsylvania.

The local committee, he said, will provide volunteers to arrange the parking, set up and cleanup.

The groups are expecting 5,000 to 6,000 people at the outdoor rally off Route 309 at Schnecksville Fire Hall, 4550 Old Packhouse Road.

The rally is slated to begin at 7 p.m. but people will be admitted as early as 3 p.m., according to Trump’s campaign website.
