Mack Trucks are a symbol of America’s manufacturing strength. Their Lehigh Valley operations are a pillar of the local economy, employing Pennsylvania…
Trump has been no stranger to the Lehigh Valley — this would mark his third visit to Lehigh County since 2024. His last visited days before his historic victory in 2024 when thousands of supporters turned out to see him at the PPL Center in Allentown. He also held an outdoor campaign rally in Schnecksville in April 2024, shortly before he went to trial for falsifying business records to hide coverup payments regarding an affair.
Trump also visited Mt. Airy Casino just outside the region in December, when he painted a rosy outlook for the country as the midterm elections began to take shape.
Polls suggest that sunnier picture has not taken root with the American people. According to a new Marist Poll, just 36% of Americans approve of Trump's job performance, a low mark for his second term. While he won re-election by hammering President Joe Biden on the American economy, rising energy costs and stubbornly high prices on everyday goods remain a sore point. Sixty percent of Americans disapprove of Trump's handling of the economy, the poll found.
Tuesday will mark the second time in five years that Mack Trucks has rolled out the welcome mat for a presidential motorcade. Biden toured the facility in 2021 as part of his Build Back Better tour. Mack employees showcased electric vehicles being constructed on site during that visit.
