Allentown City Council discussed several proposed abortion-rights bills at a special meeting Wednesday.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Allentown City Controller Jeff Glazier announced Friday that he is again seeking reelection to the job he has held for the past six years.

Glazier was appointed to the post in 2016 after the resignation of Mary Ellen Koval.

He went on to win election to the post in 2017 and reelection in 2019.

The Allentown native said in a written release that he has worked to increase transparency, as evidenced by the searchable and downloadable audit reports available on his department's web page.

"When I was first appointed controller, the city put its confidence in me to be effective, transparent and trustworthy,” Glazier said in the written statement, “My office continues to scrutinize the city’s financial transactions to assure they comply with city policies and applicable laws. Additionally, we recently completed our first performance audit one year ahead of schedule.”

Prior to his current service as city controller, Glazier was a member of Allentown City Council. He also served for 12 years as a member of the Allentown School District Board of Directors from 2000-2012, including 6 years as its president.
